We implement a BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) Programme that starts in Year 3.
BYOD is a solution where pupils bring their own devices to school to use in their day-to-day classwork and learning.
The BYOD Programme has been designed to ensure that all pupils are given the opportunity to develop the necessary skills to thrive as we move further into the digital age.
Pupil-centred learning is an important feature of our education provision and the use of BYOD supports this philosophy by encouraging pupils to be responsible for their learning, to be inquisitive, to read beyond the confines of their exam specifications, and to access content whenever and wherever they wish.
BYOD in Upper Primary
In Upper Primary, children use iPads in school. Please visit the E-Store Flyer to view the options available in terms of devices for the Upper Primary years.
BYOD in Secondary
In Secondary, pupils use a laptop rather than a tablet. In terms of brands and specifications, you may choose a laptop that meets the following requirements:
Windows Laptop | Processor: 2GHz dual-core or 1.4GHz Quad-core Operating System: Windows 10 Memory: Min. 4GB RAM (8GB recommended) Hard Drive: 500GB standard HDD or 256GB SSD Wifi (g minimum or n/ac/ax) Bluetooth, ports: optional Dimensions: 11-15 inch screen Please check the battery life. We would recommend at least 6 hours to last through the school day. Touch screen: optional (not required) |
Please note: iPads and Chromebooks do not work well for Secondary requirements.
