Our Teachers

The AIS team is comprised of highly qualified and talented educators from around the world. The majority of staff are British with experience in British schools. However, to ensure that AIS is truly an international school, we invite excellent teachers from countries where English is the first language to join us in educating our students.

All of our teachers will promote independent learning, critical thinking and self-reflection in a caring and stimulating environment. Leadership Team

The AIS leadership team comprises of the Principal, Vice Principal, Head of Primary, Head of Foundation Stage, Registrar, Parent Relations Executive and Operations Manager.

The Principal has extensive experience in UK and international schools and a background in promoting bilingual education. Teamwork is highly valued at AIS and our leadership team will set a high benchmark, working closely and collaboratively together to ensure that our students receive an outstanding education in a happy, positive setting.

Professional Development

Careers


Early Years/Primary Music Teacher

Start Date : Immediate or August 2018

The successful candidate will demonstrate: passion; commitment; enthusiasm; determination; imagination and patience. Additionally, will hold excellent interpersonal skills.

Essential professional characteristics include :

  • A passion for sharing their love of music with others
  • Motivating students and encouraging progress
  • Effective classroom practitioner
  • Planning and preparing lessons in relation to individual students needs at foundation and primary levels
  • Assessing students abilities, providing feedback and writing reports
  • Ensuring up to date knowledge of the National Curriculum music syllabus
  • Promoting the music department via an annual production and quarterly recitals and concerts

EYFS Teachers

Start Date : August 2018

The successful candidates will be experienced professionals with a thorough knowledge of the UK Early Years curriculum, having worked recently in an Early Years setting. Staff need to have at least 2 years’ teaching experience post qualification and hold a PGCE or Bachelor’s degree in Early Years/Primary.

In fulfilling the requirements of the post, the successful candidate will demonstrate essential professional characteristics and in particular will:

  • Inspire trust and confidence in students, parents and colleagues
  • Ensure consistently high quality curriculum delivery and learning outcomes for students
  • Maintain high standards in planning, classroom delivery and the use of assessment
  • Be committed to creating a stimulating, learning environment for the students
  • Be passionate about young children and their education
  • Promote the wider aspirations and values of the school
  • Be happy, friendly and have a love of teaching

Primary Teachers

Start Date : August 2018

The successful candidates will be effective professionals with a thorough knowledge of the National Curriculum of England.

Must have at least 2 years’ teaching experience post qualification and have worked recently in a British school setting. Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education or PGCE from the UK

In fulfilling the requirements of the post, the successful candidate will demonstrate essential professional characteristics and in particular will:

  • Inspire trust and confidence in students, parents and colleagues
  • Ensure consistent high quality curriculum delivery and learning outcomes for students
  • Maintain high standards in planning, classroom delivery and the use of assessment

Secondary Teachers in the subjects of English, Drama, Geography, Science and Mathematics

Start Date : August 2018

The successful candidates at AIS will be experienced professionals with a thorough knowledge of the KS3/4 UK National Curriculum. Staff need to have at least 2 years’ teaching experience post qualification and hold a Bachelor’s degree in the subject they are applying to teach.

In fulfilling the requirements of the post, the successful candidate will demonstrate essential professional characteristics and in particular will:

  • Be a reflective and innovative classroom practitioner with an excellent knowledge and enthusiasm for their subject

Assistant Librarian

Start Date : August 2018

The successful candidate will be passionate about books and reading.

The role will include a wide variety of Library housekeeping duties, as well as the processing of new books.

You will work alongside the Librarian to promote the Library throughout the school, and you will assist staff to support children’s selection of books as well as developing their Information Literacy skills in using a library successfully.
